Professional Background

I have enjoyed a long, and diverse professional career ranging from automated equipment maintenance technician, to commercial helicopter pilot, mechanic, and most recently registered nurse.

My most recent endeavor to become a registered nurse began six years ago when I was laid off from my position at Hewlett-Packard Company in Corvallis, Oregon. My time at HP was well-spent, and I experienced tremendous personal growth during my thirteen years of employment. As a result of my layoff, I was designated a "displaced worker" and became eligible for retraining under the Trade Act.

I began my retraining in the fall of 2005, and completed prerequisite courses toward a nursing school admission in the fall of 2006. I applied for nursing school at Linn-Benton Community College, in Albany, Oregon in January of 2007, was officially accepted to the program, and started nursing school in the fall of 2007.
